A year of Myasthenia Gravis

1/365 – Happy New Year

Happy New Year and welcome to day 1/365 of my blog which will aim to capture what it is like to live with the fluctuating condition known as Myasthenia Gravis. I will publish a photo or video each day to show the physical changes MG offers and I’ll try my best to capture the emotional changes that go along with these shifts.

Above you can see my current state – the tosis (lazy eye lid) in my right eye sadly wasn’t ready to say goodbye with 2014 and has stayed with me into the new year. This isn’t much of a surprise considering the late nights and alcohol consumed over the last few weeks!

When I compare this photo with the one to the right, from this time last year when I had just started treatment, I feel positive about the year ahead. As you can see, my right eye was completely shut and the left one was half shut. Now my vision is back to normal, I feel physically strong and I’m ready for a few early nights which means the tosis should soon be so 2014.
